US Ski Cross Announces 2026-27 World Cup Team, Europa Cup Team and National Development Group
American Ski Cross athletes take the next step toward international success through World Cup, Europa Cup and NorAm racing, expanded training, and World Junior Championship preparation.

FRISCO, Colo. — Sept. 1, 2026 — US Ski Cross announced its 2026-27 World Cup Team, Europa Cup Team and National Development Group today. The three groups create pathways for American athletes seeking success at every level of international ski cross competition.
The programs are designed to meet athletes at different stages of development. The World Cup Team will represent US Ski Cross at the highest level of international competition. The Europa Cup Team will focus on a full international schedule, racing on the Europa Cup and NorAm circuits while pursuing opportunities to compete in World Cup events. The National Development Group will focus on the NorAm racing schedule and targeted training camps in Chile, Switzerland and Keystone, Colorado, to build the skills and experience needed for the World Junior Championships.

2026-27 US Ski Cross Europa Cup Team
"Getting athletes to Europe is an important step in their development," said Rodney Robinson, president of US Ski Cross. "They get to race different athletes, learn different tracks and see firsthand what the next level looks like. That experience gives them a much better understanding of where they are strong and where they need to keep improving."
The Europa Cup Team represents the next step for US Ski Cross athletes ready to compete consistently at the international level. Athletes will race throughout North America and Europe, using NorAm and Europa Cup competition to gain experience against deeper international fields. World Cup opportunities will provide an additional pathway toward the top level of the sport.
The team’s European schedule will include competition in the Europa Cup alongside training and racing opportunities around the world. These events give athletes experience on international courses and alongside European competitors. The team will also compete on the NorAm circuit and pursue World Cup starts throughout the season.

The National Development Group is designed to bridge the gap between domestic racing and international success. The group will focus on the NorAm schedule throughout the season while participating in three targeted training camps to accelerate development and prepare athletes for the World Junior Championships.
The three-camp program includes:
Chile (September 2026): An early-season on-snow training camp focused on technical development, alpine giant slalom and super-G training, ski cross track exposure, dryland preparation, and training alongside international athletes.
Switzerland (2026-27 Season): A European training and competition opportunity centered on ski cross development, including the Swiss Ski Cross Tour and exposure to international racing environments.
Keystone, Colo. (2026-27 Season): A domestic training camp at the US Ski Cross training venue in Keystone, focused on preparation for the World Junior Championships and continued development in a high-performance environment.
The National Development Group will use the NorAm schedule and these camps to develop technical, tactical, physical and mental skills. The camps will also provide athletes with the international exposure needed to transition toward Europa Cup and World Cup competition.

The Athlete Pathway
US Ski Cross has built a progression for athletes from grassroots development to the highest levels of international competition: Club Events → USASA → Holeshot JR Tour → NorAm Cup → Europa Cup → World Cup → Olympic Games
For athletes in the National Development Group, the immediate goal is preparation for NorAms and the World Junior Championships. For athletes on the Europa Cup Team, the focus is consistent international competition and progression toward World Cup-level performance. For the World Cup Team, the focus is competition at the highest level of ski cross and pursuing top international results.
Built Together
These programs build on the work underway in ski cross clubs and programs across the country. Athletes continue to train and compete with their home clubs while gaining additional national-level coaching, targeted training opportunities and international race experience through US Ski Cross.
The US Ski Cross development model is collaborative. Home clubs and coaches provide the day-to-day foundation for athlete development. US Ski Cross creates additional opportunities for athletes to train together, race internationally and continue their progress. Together with athletes, coaches, families and local clubs, US Ski Cross is building the future of the sport in the United States.
